Secure IoT modules & services promise
device-to-cloud IoT protection
Samsung’s ARTIK IoT platform hardens critical end point security, with
its makers positioning it as the first compliant platform for secure access
to Samsung products and the SmartThings Cloud ecosystem. With
the ARTIK secure “s” systems-on-modules and services for the ARTIK IoT
Platform, Samsung aims strengthen edge security.
The ARTIK IoT platform now offers device-tocloud
security for companies to build, develop and
manage secure, interoperable, and intelligent IoT
products and services. Samsung has announced
that the platform will fully integrate
with the SmartThings Cloud — the
company’s unified IoT platform.
Dual-band Wi-Fi + Bluetooth radio module
PAN9026 is a dual-band 2.4/5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi radio module
with integrated Bluetooth BDR/EDR/LE functionality, for integrated
and cost-effective applications, from Panasonic Industry Europe. The
simultaneous and independent operation of the two standards enables
high data rates (802.11n) and low-power operation (Bluetooth Low Energy).
Integrated power management,
a fast dual-core CPU, 802.11i
security standard support, as well as
high-speed data interfaces deliver the
performance for the speed, reliability,
and quality requirements
of next generation
Next-generation ARM module
hosts TI Cortex-A15 core
With the TQMa57xx embedded module TQ (TQ-Group, Seefeld,
Germany) introduces a mini-module, based on the Texas Instruments
AM57xx processor family, which employs a single or dual
ARM Cortex A15 core, running at up to 1.5 GHz and including highperformance
graphics. The module can be used in areas in which
both graphics and computing capacity are
required, in addition to fast data communication.
TI-specific PRU’s (Programmable
Real Time Unit) and/or two Cortex M4
controllers can be used
for industrial controllers
and real-time support.
Raspberry Pi servers & add-ons from Sfera
Covering a range of boards and modules designed to work with Raspberry
Pi 3, distributor Mouser Electronics now has a global agreement with
Sfera Labs (Milan, Italy), developers of hardware and software that bridges
the maker world with the professional automation market. The Sfera Labs’
product line includes fully assembled Strato Pi and Iono Pi boards as well as
corresponding CE-certified and FCC-compliant servers, which are assembled
units that house the board and a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B single-board computer
packaged in a compact DIN-standard case with omega-rail mounts. The
Strato Pi UPS board and server provide an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
to the Raspberry Pi, delivering a nominal voltage of 5V and up to 3A for even
the most demanding accessories and software applications.
The Strato Pi CAN board and server implement a CAN bus
controller with an opto-isolated physical interface.
